Yasmeina Simms is a Richmond native, graduating from Huguenot High School. She attended Virginia Union University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in English. While in undergraduate studies, Mrs. Simms served as an academic mentor with Higher Achievement, a student teacher assistant, and an active undergraduate researcher. Dedicated to lifelong learning, she has completed graduate coursework in education through Liberty University and is currently studying Health Information Management at Reynolds Community College. Mrs. Simms brings over seven years of classroom instruction and youth mentorship across Richmond, including serving as an English teacher, reading interventionist, and Title I tutor for Richmond Public Schools, as well as leading summer academic enrichment at Peter Paul Development Center. She is excited to serve as Cristo Rey Richmond’s inaugural Business Literacy Teacher, preparing scholars with essential professional skills under the Cristo Rey Richmond Corporate Work Study Program.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Simms loves anime and manga, cosplay, theater arts, reading, writing, and traveling. Above all, she cherishes spending quality time with her husband and their one-year-old daughter, Yessenia.
