Mr. Justin Washington

Health, PE and Anatomy Instructor

Justin Washington comes from a family of educators—his mother is a retired kindergarten teacher, his father is a retired assistant principal, and his sister is a fourth-grade teacher. He studied K–6 Education at St. Paul’s College before transferring to Virginia State University, where he earned a degree in Health & Physical Education with a concentration in Health Sciences.

His career spans education, athletics, and health and wellness. Justin served as an athletic trainer for the 2014 CIAA football champions and later volunteered as an assistant coach for VSU Men’s Tennis. He also developed the Kids Fit program through the YMCA of Greater Richmond and worked as a fitness specialist with the U.S. House of Representatives and Capital One.

Justin later transitioned into education, working with Richmond Public Schools. He served as Vice President of the Chesterfield County VSU Alumni Association from 2024–2026 and is a recipient of the 2021 Young Trojan Award and Trojan 10 Under 10 recognition.

A certified Personal Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, Strength & Conditioning Specialist, Fitness Coach, and Nutrition Coach, Justin is passionate about helping young people build healthy, active lifestyles. His long-term goal is to pursue further education and eventually open an academic center or academy with a strong athletic program.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys sports, fitness, scouting AAU teams, attending HBCU and VSU events, and supporting his students. His goal is to help students build a strong, lifelong relationship with health and fitness.
