Joella Saffore

Joella Saffore, an Alaska native, graduated from Mary Baldwin College where she received a BA in Mathematics and a minor in Education. She first became interested in teaching in 2013 and has been teaching ever since. In the past ten years, Ms. Saffore has taught a variety of math classes from Algebra 1 to Calculus. She joined the Cristo Rey team in 2020 and hopes to spend many, many years there to transform one student at a time. Throughout her time as an educator, Ms. Saffore has learned many teaching strategies in the classroom that she has shared with other teachers. Her passion to help her colleagues also led her to pursue her master’s degree in instruction and curriculum. Ms. Saffore hopes to complete this and become an instructional coach, as well as continue to build the math program and rigor in the classroom at Cristo Rey Richmond High School.
