With a background in trauma-informed education, Thomas Miller is passionate about imparting knowledge in a supportive manner. Mr. Miller holds a Bachelor of Arts with a major in History and a minor in Religious Studies from VCU, and is enthusiastic about blending historical contexts with insights into religious traditions. Highlights of his educational journey include joining the 2022 study abroad team for a trip to Jerusalem to practice archaeology, serving as a TA for the Bible as Literature course, and organizing the 2022 Alexandrian Society Symposium, where scholars from around the country discussed racial injustice in history, law, and medical treatment in America.
Mr. Miller’s teaching career in Henrico County as an English teacher at The Virginia Home for Boys and Girls, where he developed his practice while working with students who had significant behavioral disabilities. During this time, he created and delivered English lessons with flexibility to meet each student’s needs, focusing on social-emotional learning objectives as well as SOL standards. He is excited to be part of the academic team at Cristo Rey Richmond and looks forward to helping students expand their understanding of Scripture and the Church.
Outside of school, Mr. Miller enjoys creating and listening to music, watching movies, taking care of his pets, and meeting new people. One of his favorite activities is leading historic Segway tours around downtown Richmond. However, spending time with his loved ones remains his favorite pastime.
