Torian Jones is an educator, author, entrepreneur, and community leader whose work centers on empowering young people to recognize their potential, build confidence, and make a positive impact in their communities. A graduate of Norfolk State University, she has cultivated a diverse professional background that includes teaching Biology, Environmental Science, mathematics, and GED preparation in both traditional and alternative education settings. Her experience spans nonprofit leadership, mentorship, marine conservation, and youth development, with a consistent focus on helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their goals. Ms. Jones also serves as the organizer of the annual Juneteenth celebration in her hometown of Farmville and has mentored and coached youth through organizations such as Meadowbrook High School, Elijah House Academy, Next Up, and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Richmond.
In addition to her educational and community work, Ms. Jones is the founder of Beyouniquorn Holistic Wellness Services, a business dedicated to wellness, self-care, and holistic healing. She is the author of Seeds of Love, a pregnancy affirmation book, and Becoming: Her and Becoming: Him, activity books designed to promote self-reflection, healing, and personal growth. Most recently, she served as Program Leader and Camp Manager with Girls For A Change, creating leadership development experiences for girls of all ages. As a proud mother to her son, Akachi, Ms. Jones draws inspiration from her family and remains committed to education, service, and leadership. She is excited to join Cristo Rey, where she looks forward to helping students grow academically and personally while embracing her belief that “everybody can learn, some just need to be convinced.”
